Saudi- Taif hospital's lab blood bank receive CAP accreditation


(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: The laboratory and blood bank at the King Abdul Aziz Specialist Hospital in Taif has received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for maintaining global standards.
The undersecretary to the Ministry of Health for laboratories and blood banks Dr. Ibrahim Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Omar explained that the laboratory and blood bank department at King Abdul Aziz Specialist Hospital in Taif is now among a small number of laboratories that have received this international certificate of quality.
Under the laboratory accreditation program the CAP inspects a variety of necessary laboratory standards in medical centers covering the full range of disciplines and testing procedures and uses teams of practitioners qualified to conduct inspections through their training under the CAP program.
Al-Omar said that there are some 17000 physicians and laboratories affiliated with the CAP. The College of American Pathologists (CAP's) Laboratory Accreditation Program accredits the entire spectrum of laboratory test disciplines with the most scientifically rigorous customized checklist requirements.
