Azerbaijani military shoots down Armenian drone


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Azerbaijani forces have shot down an Armenian drone, said Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry on Thursday.

The ministry said in a statement that an Armenian aircraft had been detected flying over positions of Azerbaijani armed forces in the area of Fuzuli district , in the southern part of the country and were shot down by soldiers.

On July 4, the Azerbaijani military shot down two Armenian drones, had said the Azerbaijan's defense ministry.

These claims could not be independently verified.

The invasion of the Azerbaijan territory of Nagorno-Karabakh by Armenia started in 1988 with minor conflicts, but evolved into a full-fledged war in 1992.

Since the end of the war in 1994, Armenian and Azeri delegations have held talks over the status of Nagorno-Karabakh under the supervision of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's Minsk Group.
