Morocco's economy grows 4.3 percent in Q2

(MENAFN) Morocco's economy recorded 4.3 percent growth in the second quarter of the year, marking a slight increase from the 4.1 percent of the first quarter, driven by rising agricultural harvest, Reuters reported.

Cereal output increased 64 percent, driving the total agricultural harvest up by 15.1 percent when compared to the 12.5 percent logged for the corresponding quarter a year ago, according to the country's planning agency.

Agriculture accounts for more than 15 percent of the Moroccan economy. The non-agricultural sector, on the other hand, also posted a growth of 2.1 percent for the quarter and helped boosting the economy.
