US stocks low amid Greek uncertainty


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) US stocks experienced steep decline Monday morning and rebounded by midmorning after Greece voted against an offer for a bailout by European creditors.

Around mid-day the NASDAQ Composite was down 14.27 or .28 percent at 4,994. The S&P 500 was down 5.72 or .28 percent at 2,071. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was at 17,688 a decrease of 41.49 or .23 percent. The Dow had fallen more than 150 points soon after the market opened.

Analysts indicate that US stocks are protected from the turmoil in Greece but its troubles have affected spread anxiety to investors across the global markets.
