Greece has new Fin. Min.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Greece's top negotiator in talks with Western creditors, Euclid Tsakalotos, was sworn in as new finance minister Monday evening after the resignation of Yanis Varoufakis earlier today.

Tsakalotos, a 55-year-old economist has taught in the universities of Kent and Athens. He is expected to meet the other 18 eurozone finance ministers in Brussels on Tuesday to discuss the situation in Greece after the NO vote to austerity in Sunday's referendum.

Speaking to reporters in Athens he said he is "nervous and worried" as he is taking up his new post in very difficult times.

"But I think something can be changed in Europe," said Tsakalotos who also served as Greece's alternate foreign minister.
