Jordan participates in OECD meeting in Paris


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Finance Minister Umayya Toukan took part in the Organisation for European Economic Co-operation (OECD) meeting which was held in Paris in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from July 1 to 3.

Some 120 member countries participated in the OECD meeting which was on taxation policies and their impact on environment.

The minister delivered a speech at the opening session, which reviewed the Jordanian experience in the field of financial and structural economic reforms.

He also reviewed modern economic legislation, including the income tax law, investment law and the law of partnership with the private sector.

On environment, he said that Jordan is currently implementing an ambitious agenda to protect the environment and that the Kingdom had sought to import electric vehicles which are exempted from all taxes.

These cars will be used by ministers to encourage people to use such vehicles, he added.
