Canada's Pacific NorthWest LNG, B.C. to sign USD36b agreement

(MENAFN) The government of British Columbia is set to sign the first USD36 billion liquefied-natural-gas agreement with Pacific NorthWest LNG, according to Canada's Finance Minister, Times Colonist reported.

The deal will mark the largest investment ever made in the private sector of British Columbia, and is forecast to generate more than 4,500 employment opportunities along with USD9 billion in government revenues in the upcoming ten years.

"It is to my recollection the single largest private-sector investment in the history of the province. Most people will see that as a very reasonable and very rational tradeoff for the benefits that are about to accrue," the Minister said.
