Saudi Arabia announces capturing 3 suspects linked to Al-Sadiq Mosque attack

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Saudi Arabia announced Tuesday capturing three suspects linked to the terrorist attack that hit Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in Kuwait late last month.

In a bid to clampdown on those linked to the attack, which resulted in martyring 26 people and injuring 227 more on June 26, the Saudi interior ministry, in a statement, said that investigations revealed; in coordination with Kuwaiti security, the involvement of three Saudi siblings in the ISIL-claimed attack.

The statement said that two of the suspects were born in Kuwait and were in contact with another sibling in Syria, who is also a member of the fanatic group there.

Both suspects were arrested after exchange of fire with security in al-Taif and al-Khafji governorates, which also resulted in injuring two security personnel, who were later rushed to hospital.

"The third suspect was arrested in Kuwait and arrangements are in place to turn him back and hand him to Saudi security," the statement noted.
