Mohammed bin Rashid receives sports and youth leaders


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, received this evening at his Zabeel Palace, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, the sports and youth leaders, representatives of sports media in the UAE.

Sheikh Mohammed exchanged the Ramadan greetings with them.

He accepted the greetings from members of the National Olympic Committee, the Chairman and members of the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare, heads and deputy heads of sports associations and heads of sports clubs in the country, officials and representatives of the sports media, who wished him good health, and to the wise leadership.

Sheikh Mohammed exchanged views with the audience about the national sports issues and ways of disseminating the culture of sports practice in the society, especially among the youth, males and females, in order to build a solid sports foundation that would be effective locally, regionally and internationally at various levels.

He cited the benefits of sports to the body, urging the sports officials to encourage sports among all sectors of the community. He noted that he practices sports daily to keep fit.

Sheikh Mohammed ordered holding open national sports day for all the components of society to coincide with the 44th national day anniversary. He tasked Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid to follow up and take necessary measures to implement the directives.

He underlined that the government has a national strategy to sponsor youth, polish and hone their skills.
