DEWA observes Zayed Humanitarian Work Day


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has conducted a series of activities to commemorate Zayed Humanitarian Work Day on 19th of Ramadan every year, and the 11th anniversary of the passing of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, his life and philanthropy in the UAE and his humanitarian achievements, as well as those of the UAE to others.

"The initiatives and philanthropy of the Father of the Nation still continue today in the deeds and actions of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council members and Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes, and all the people of the UAE to do good and serve humanity," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

"The world witnesses the generosity of Sheikh Zayed and his humanitarian, philanthropic and social achievements. Today we see the continuity of this giving, through his institutions. These deeds have formed the values of the UAE and contributed to the strengthening its position on a global level. This noble work has become institutionalised and a social culture that emanates from the soul of the UAE to serve everyone," said Al Tayer.

To achieve the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid to commemorate 19th of Ramadan as Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, DEWA has become a Platinum sponsour of the Watani Emarat Foundation under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

DEWA cooperates with the INJAZ UAE Foundation to support the Emirates Initiative to Connect with Orphans and Minors formed to send orphans abroad to receive training on creativity and innovation.
