KSA- Fighting graft
(MENAFN- Arab News) This is with reference to the report 'Graft: Wider awareness urged' (July 6). We usually don't realize the true impact of corruption on a society. In my opinion jumping the traffic signal or violating traffic rules is also a form of corruption.
By violating traffic regulations we not only put our lives at risk but also the lives of our fellow motorists and pedestrians. Laws or rules are enacted for the smooth functioning of a society. These laws are in place for our own benefit. Bribing officials to get something done is also a huge problem which has become one of the most prominent characteristics of the Third World countries. We all need to make efforts to fight corruption. Yahya Karim Dammam
