Saudi Arabia inaugurates new international airport in Madinah


(MENAFN) The King of Saudi Arabia has officially inaugurated the new Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz International Airport in Madinah, according to written report, Arab News reported.

The new airport is decorated and themed with traditional architecture that mirrors Madinah's inheritance and customs. The King toured the facility along with the head of the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA).

The airport, located over a plot of 4 million square meters, is forecast to service an annual number of 8 million passengers through its first phase of operations, 18 million in the second phase, and then 40 million after the third and final phase.
