Oman- Electricity and water production see an increase from last year


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The total production of electricity and water in Oman till the end of April 2015 has seen an increase of 17 per cent and 10.6 per cent respectively compared to the same period of 2014.

Statistics by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) show that total electricity production till the end of April 2015 had reached 8474.1GW per hour compared to 7239.9GW per hour during the same period of 2014 an increase of 17 per cent.

The net electricity production till the end of April 2015 reached 8097.2GW per hour compared to 6872.3GW per hour during the same period of 2014 an increase of 17.8 per cent. This production includes procurements of the Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) and the Rural Areas Electricity Company (RAEC). Meanwhile water production till April 2015 had touched 106617900m3 compared to 96421700m3 during the same period of 2014 a rise of 10.6 per cent.
