Zayed Sports City tournament sees record number of participants in disabled competition


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) A record number of 42 participants with hearing impairments have taken part in the disabled division of the Ramadan Bowling Tournament at Zayed Sports City, the UAE's premier sports and recreation venue.

The tournament, sponsored by the National Drilling Company, NDC, included a disabled division over two days, which saw tough competition in the Ladies Singles, Men's Singles and Men's Team events.

Tariq Shahab from Dubai Disabled Club A-team bowled a winning score to take the Men's Singles event title, closely followed by Saood Mohamed, also from Dubai Disabled Club A-team and Ali Al Jabri from Abu Dhabi Disabled Club.

The Ladies Singles event was dominated by Dubai Disabled Club with Sakena Aziz taking first place with a score of 341, Kawalah Al Hosani taking second and Marwa Sehab placed third. In the Male Team event, Dubai Disabled Club B-team narrowly beat Abu Dhabi Disabled Club with a score of 2,616, with Dubai Disabled Club A-team coming in third place.

The Ramadan Bowling Tournament runs until 13th July at the Khalifa International Bowling Centre, inside Zayed Sports City.
