Iran likely to ship its LEU to Russia

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Iran is considering to ship much of its low enriched uranium (LEU) to Russia, but the issue is still being discussed in the ongoing negotiation here, diplomatic source told Xinhua on Saturday.

The idea seems to be a substantial progress of the talks, as Iran had always refused to ship its fissile material abroad in the past.

The diplomat involved in the talks wanted to speak anonymously, saying the idea of shipping Iran's LEU to Russia is being discussed now.

According to a recent IAEA report, Iran owns 7,537 kg of LEU stockpile in end-June.
