Myanmar's trade deficit at USD752m in 2M


(MENAFN) Official data showed that Myanmar kept a trade deficit of over USD752 million in the first two months (April through May) of the current financial year 2015-16, Xinhua reported.

With its total foreign trade amounting to USD3973.33 million during the cited period, its export stood at USD1610.59 million, while its import amounted to USD2362.74 million.

In May alone, the total trade volume amounted to USD2392.13 million with export accounting for USD986.96 million and import representing USD1405.17 million.

Myanmar mostly exports agricultural goods, animal by-products, fishery products, mine and forest products while it imports consumer products, raw materials and investment goods.
