(MENAFN- Arab Times) As the Public Prosecution continues its investigation on Al- Sadiq Mosque bombing for the fourth day consecutively, high-ranking security official revealed that the cell which executed Kuwait's attack included female elements, reports Al Jarida daily.
He added the investigation department will interrogate the two siblings affiliated to the ISIL, among them the wife of the driver, Abdul Rahman, who drove the suicide bomber to Al- Sadiq Mosque.
Criminal investigation points to the involvement of two women in the terrorist operation after their affiliation to the group was established with their crime of whitewashing.
Sources indicated investigation is still in the preliminary stage and over 11 suspects have been arrested and detained in connection with the case.
Official sources disclosed that concerned departments will investigate the main accused "Fahad Faraj" nicknamed "Wali Al Daesha".
Meanwhile, Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Undersecretary Adel Al-Falah considers the Friday prayer at the Grand Mosque, in the presence of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the political leaders, the best message to the world about the unity of the Kuwaiti nation, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Al-Falah pointed out the event clearly indicates that any terrorist act will not divide the Kuwait society. He said the Friday prayer, which gathered all sects, conveyed a magnificent and unique message for the Kuwaiti society that loves to see tolerance among all sects and groups.
In other news, the government is studying the possibility of banning the WhatsApp calling feature as a preventive security measure which has already been implemented in some Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates as well as in some Arab countries, reports Al-Rai daily quoting a reliable source.
He revealed that Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Communications have been coordinating to take necessary technical and security measures without affecting the users, adding that an ad hoc committee will form a detailed report in this regard and submit to the Cabinet to take a decision.
Meanwhile, another source indicated the difficulties in blocking free calling applications via Internet such as 'Viber' and 'Tango', because of the large number of applications that offer such services free of charge. He affirmed that the concerned authorities are considering all aspects in this regard to take appropriate action.
Elsewhere, Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safah said he received information from a citizen who allegedly saw a man inside a vehicle with a Saudi Arabian plate number taking pictures of a big mosque in Al-Zaher, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Safah stressed all the security procedures have been taken, including the deployment of patrol teams in the area to search for the vehicle whose description has been circulated to all concerned security bodies. He disclosed this led to the cancellation of the Friday prayer in the mosque, in coordination with the Ministry of Awqaf, as a precautionary measure.
Director of the Capital Mosques Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Bader Al-Oteibi said the decision of the ministry on the removal of Ramadan tents and organization of 'I'tikaaf' (late night prayers during the last 10 days of Ramadan) this year is in line with the agreement reached during the recently-concluded meeting of its officials in the presence of Minister Yacoub Al-Sane, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Al-Oteibi said all officials, who attended the meeting, agreed on the need to take the abovementioned steps temporarily until the approval of a new mechanism in light of the security situation in the country. He pointed out the country is currently passing through exceptional circumstances which require all the people to stand on one line, without giving any chance to troublemakers who are targeting the national security. He also urged everyone to refrain from serving political or sectarian interests at the expense of the nation's security.
A Saudi national was arrested recently for allegedly belonging to a terrorist organization, reports Al-Shahed daily. According to security sources, Mubarak Al-Kabeer securitymen were patrolling the area when they noticed a man standing near a dented vehicle that was parked in front of a mosque. However, when the man noticed the patrol vehicle, he immediately jumped into his vehicle and fled. Securitymen chased him and managed to eventually stop him after they threatened to shoot him if he did not stop. He replied, "You are agents of America and Israel. I have received a message to be a martyr in Kuwait". He was arrested and referred to the concerned security authorities for investigations.
Meanwhile, several academicians have stressed the need for national unity that Kuwaitis have always shown throughout history under the leadership of Al-Sabah ruling family, reports Al-Shahed daily. During a seminar organized recently by the College of Arts, they reviewed the history of Kuwait from the period of Al- Jahra War in 1921 until the Iraqi invasion in 1990.
Speaking at the event, Acting President of Kuwait University Prof. Hayat Nasser Al-Hajji declared that Kuwaitis of all segments have set the best example in national harmony and solidarity during difficult times. She stressed that the citizens might disagree on ideologies and sects but they all love the country and always work towards its unity.
Prof Al-Hajji cited how HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah rushed to Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque immediately after the bombing incident occurred. She indicated that national unity does not require a special lesson or curriculum but it is inbuilt in the minds of Kuwaitis who understand that non-existence of their country amounts to their own extinction. Chairman of Kuwait Labor Union Federation condemned Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque bombing saying "perpetrators of the cowardly act neither fear Allah nor respect the sanctity of innocent blood", reports Al-Seyassah daily. He made the statement at an event held Thursday in the headquarters of the union of syndicates of government sector employees in solidarity with victims of the atrocious act, stressing that terrorism will not thrive over unity and cohesion among Kuwaitis. He also said "Kuwait as a nation is united against all challenges and vicious plots intended to incite chaos among the children of one nation".
He further stated the cowardly attack on the house of Allah aimed to spur confusion in the country but Kuwait has proven beyond doubt she is stronger than terrorism and its children are one against the enemy which tries to mess with its security, stability and safety.
For his part, Chairman of the Petroleum Workers Union Yusuf Ramadan representing the entire Kuwaiti oil sector stressed the importance of national unity and cohesion among various groups in Kuwaiti society. He noted the bombing of Al-Sadiq Mosque last Friday has nothing to do with humanity and the meeting of labor syndicates conveys a clear message of solidarity and unity and proves to the entire world that Kuwaitis are brothers. Board Chairman of the Kuwaiti Society for Cultural Understanding Abdul Wahab Al-Shayei said the society is denouncing the terrorist attack on the Shiite mosque € Imam Al-Sadiq, reports Al-Anba daily. He disclosed the society is also offering condolences to the families of the victims and praying for the quick recovery of the injured. He added the society continues to pray for the country to be protected from any evil act.
