US Amadeus to purchase USD830m Accenture's Navitaire

(MENAFN) Amadeus IT Holding SA agreed to purchase Accenture Plc's Navitaire for USD830 million as the flight-bookings provider seeks to add products that target low-cost airlines, Bloomberg reported.

The deal will be completed by the end of 2015 and as many as 550 Navitaire employees will be transferred to Amadeus, according to a statement.

Amadeus said its own offerings largely target full-service carriers and that it intends to market and sell the two product portfolios separately and will continue to invest in both platforms.

"This transaction will give us the ability to serve all airlines with technology that can enable them to drive new revenues and contain their costs," Amadeus Chief Executive Officer said in the statement.
