OIC condemns terrorist attacks in Sinai


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, has condemned the terrorist attacks on military checkpoints in Northern Sinai, Egypt, on Wednesday, which resulted in dozen of deaths and injuries among military and police officers.

Iyad Ameen Madani, OIC Secretary-General, expressed the organisation's full solidarity with the Egyptian government and people in facing up to terrorism. Madani added, that he is confident that such terrorist acts would only consolidate the determination of the Egyptian government and people to stand together and unite in the fight against terrorism and for peace and stability.

Madani reiterated the OIC's consistent position to fight terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, regardless of its source. He stressed the OIC's full commitment to continue to work through constant consultation with member states and OIC institutions to confront the scourge of terrorism effectively within the framework of the OIC's adopted resolutions.
