(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Ithraa's investment working group led by Faris al Farsi director general of the investment promotion directorate met on Wednesday.
According to Farsi the group's mission is to represent and support the interests of Oman's business community. Specifically meetings feature presenters from Ithraa and a variety of companies providing members with the opportunity to discuss investment successes and challenges in Oman and identify ways of improving the sultanate's investment climate and competitiveness.
'Wednesday's working group meeting focussed on the World Expo 2015 where our Milan pavilion aims to promote Oman as a place to visit and do business as well as advance the sultanate's trade and investment objectives in key international markets.
We also discussed the B2B India meetings scheduled for August in New Delhi and Mumbai. India is a highly important trade and investment partner. Indeed its massive market of English-speaking middle-class consumers is predicted to multiply tenfold over the next 15 years offering Omani companies opportunities in India's food health care power renewable energy and retail sectors. The attraction of India for Omani businesses is also underscored by the two countries' shared history and deep investment links" Farsi said.
Ithraa's updated investment promotion plan which is being developed in partnership with Deloitte was also on the meeting's agenda.
