Hyundai Motors sales down 1.2 percent in June

(MENAFN) Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's top automaker, said that its June sales declined 1.2 percent on-year due to less demand from overseas markets, Yonhap News reported.

The South Korean auto manufacturer said in a statement published in its website that it sold a total of 408,026 units last month, dropping from 412,835 vehicles sold in a year earlier.

Its domestic sales came to 62,802 units, up 4.8 percent from a year earlier, but overseas shipments shrank 2.2 percent to 345,224 units over the cited period, the company said.

"An increase in working days helped increase exports of domestically produced vehicles, but overall exports remained weak, affected by the global economic slump," Hyundai Motor said.
