Tunisia forecasts USD515m losses in tourism

(MENAFN) Tunisia forecasts to record USD515 million losses in tourism this year, which is equivalent to 25 percent of its yearly tourism earnings, Reuters reported.

The forecast came after last Friday's attack on a beach hotel that resulted in the death of 39 people. In 2014, Tunisia recorded USD1.9 billion earnings from tourism.

"The attack had a great impact on the economy, the losses will be large," the Tunisian Tourism Minister Salma told reporters.
