Kuwait- 'Mosque Attack Part Of Continuous Terrorism'


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Twelve of those injured in the Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque bombing are said to have fully recovered on the third day after the incident; while 29 are still confined in Amiri, Farwaniya, Mubarak Al- Kabeer, Adan and Sabah hospitals as well as Al-Babtain Burns Center. Amiri Hospital Director Dr Afrah Al-Sarraf and her deputy Dr Ali Elanda disclosed 16 of the injured are confined at the hospital - 12 in the wards and four are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). They clarified these figures exclude seven who were discharged Sunday evening. They also denied rumor on the death of one of the injured in the hospital, hoping those in the ICU will be transferred to the ward by Monday morning. Ahmadi Health District Director Dr Abdullatif Al-Sahleh said a patient was discharged Sunday and there are no more injured confined there.

Ibn Sina Hospital Director Dr Mohammad Owaidha revealed the hospital is currently treating only one injured who is confined in Babtain Burns Center as another one was discharged earlier. He affirmed the patient is in stable condition and he is expected to be discharged by Monday morning. Director of Farwaniya Health District Dr Jaman Al-Sultan added Farwaniya Hospital is still treating six injured, five of them in the wards and one in the ICU. He confirmed the condition of those in the wards is stable and they are getting better but the one in the ICU is in a critical condition, beseeching Allah for quick recovery of the patient.

Injured
Sabah Hospital Director Dr Abbas Ramadan revealed all the injured have been discharged, except three who are stable and there is no cause for alarm. Sources from Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital said three injured are still confined there and are in stable condition but they need to stay for a short period for further observation and they could be discharged any day from now.

The bombing of Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque is part of a series of several foiled attempts to destabilize Kuwait and undermine its national unity, reports Al-Shahed daily. Following is a chronology of the explosions in Kuwait since 1981: On June 25, 1981, the country witnessed five explosions in various locations - Ministry of Interior in Shamiya, near the State Security Center, touristic area in Salmiya, near Al-Salam Palace and in Fintas targeting an electricity transformer. These explosions didn't leave victims or material losses.

On Dec 13, 1983, six explosions were carried out in various areas and seventh failed after spoiling a bomb. The explosions targeted the American and French embassies and Kuwait International Airport, one explosion took place near the accommodation of some American technicians in Al- Bedaa and Al-Shuaiba Industrial Area.

These explosions led to the death of four people and caused injuries to 62. The Islamic Jihad Organization claimed responsibility for these explosions. On May 25, 1985, the convoy of HH the late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al- Ahmad was hit by a car-bomb. The attack led to the death of three and a large number of people got injured.

On June 25, 1985, a number of bombs were planted in some cafÈs in Sharq and Salmiya causing the death of five people and injuries to 61 persons. On June 17, 1987, four huge explosions were carried out in a number of oil installations in Al-Ahmadi leading to enormous fires. On March 12, 2007, an explosion took place inside Camp Arifjan resulting in the death of one person and three people sustained injuries.
