Qatar- Two PE teachers die in dune buggy accident

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) An Irish man and a British woman, both physical education teachers at two international schools in Doha, have died in a dune buggy accident which also injured two Irish visitors along the Sealine beach area on Saturday.

The two teachers were identified as Irish national Eamonn Morgan, 24, and Charlotte Sant, also in her 20s, from Manchester, England.

The injured are being treated in a hospital in Doha and are both in stable condition, the Belfast Telegraph newspaper reported.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Qatar Gaelic Athletic Association (Qatar GAA) chairman Peter Crowe said: "For the Irish abroad, a GAA club can offer much more than the team - It offers a sense of community, a sense of family, a home away from home, and Qatar GAA is no different. It's with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of two of our members, two of our friends, two of our family."

He added: "Eamonn and Charlotte will be sorely missed, people often don't realise at home how much of a community can be built away from home, but I can tell you, sincerely, that Eamonn and Charlotte were very much central to the community that is Qatar GAA, and it will be hard to imagine it without them. They will remain forever in our hearts and we are thinking of their family and friends back home."

Crowe said that an evening Mass was held at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary in Doha yesterday.
