14 Militants Killed in Military Operations in Afghanistan


(MENAFN- QNA) Fourteen insurgents have been killed in newest military operations in four provinces of Afghanistan, the Ministry of Interior announced on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the ministry the operations were carried out in Khost, Helmand, Oruzgan and Kandahar provinces in past 24 hours. Over a dozen militants also sustained injuries in these operations.
Security forces have confiscated heavy and light weapons in their newest actions but the statement does not contain a specific number of them, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
After taking the full responsibility of the security from NATO forces at the beginning of this year, Afghan National Security Forces began large-scale independent military operations against insurgents. Thousands of militants including foreign fighters have been killed in these operations.
Afghan forces have also retaken the control of some areas besieged by Taliban for over a decade.
