Security forces kill 23 militants in N. Pakistan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) At least 23 militants were killed in fresh air strikes and grounds operations in North Waziristan and Khyber tribal regions of northern Pakistan, said the military on Sunday.

According to the Pakistan military's Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), several foreign militants were among the terrorists killed in the operations. Several arms dumps and hideouts of the terrorists were also destroyed in the operations conducted in areas close to the Afghan border, said ISPR.

The latest air strikes killed ten militants in the Zoinari area of North Waziristan destroying three militants' hideouts, said local media.

Earlier on June 19, at least twenty militants including leading commanders were killed in fresh air strikes carried out by security forces in Khyber tribal region. North Waziristan and Khyber are among seven semi autonomous tribal agencies of Pakistan and the air strikes are a continuation of comprehensive military operation against the foreign and local militants in the region.
