Iran says nuclear deal won't be against regional countries

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Iran said Sunday a nuclear agreement between the Islamic Republic and the P5+1 group would not be against countries in the region.

"Negotiations between Iran and the 5+1 group are restricted on the nuclear issue, and the dialogue between Iran and neighboring countries covers all important issues of mutual interest," Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said.

"The nuclear agreement will not be against countries in the region, and Iran is working on settlement of regional issues within a regional framework and through political dialogue," he was quoted by the official IRNA news agency as saying.

Abdollahian said Iran's relations with neighboring countries were built on "trust and good neighborliness." Iran, he added, would continue "with its comprehensive cooperation policy with the neighboring countries." Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is in Vienna, Austria, in negotiations with his counterparts from the P5+1 group (the US, France, China, Russia and Britain plus Germany) with the objective of concluding a final nuclear agreement by June 30.
