AP strongly supports draft protocol on Arab joint force

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Arab Parliament (AP) strongly supported a draft protocol of establishing an Arab joint force, valuing serious contributions by Arab military chiefs regarding the draft.

Action is required in order to implement the Arab joint force, which aims for a rapid military intervention to face challenges that threaten safety, security, and national sovereignty of Arab countries, in addition to countering direct threats against Arab national security, AP's President Ahmad Al-Jarwan said in a press statement.

Al-Jarwan also expressed his satisfaction while following the recent Arab Summit session on drafting the protocol, which was held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, chaired by Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi.

He also expressed the Parliament's confidence that the Egyptian President will work on attaining "that Arab dream, whose main goal is to preserve safety, resources, and national security of the Arab people." The Arab Parliament is fully prepared alongside Arab League's General Secretariat to support implementation of resolutions of current Arab League session, particularly establishing Arab joint force, he added.

The new protocol draft coincides with current circumstances taking place in the region that requires military intervention in order to preserve Arab people's resources, security, and stability, said AP chief.
