He praised Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al- Sabah and his security team for their efforts which led to the timely arrest of culprits in the Friday mosque blast and finding clues about the terrorist attack.

The minister also commended the Ministry of Interior for providing the public with credible information in a transparent way, thus leaving no room for rumor promulgators. On his part, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Mubarak Al- Khurainej said the security services, led by Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled, made praiseworthy efforts that led to the dismantling of the terrorist cell behind the cowardly blast at the mosque. "The legislative authority stands by the executive authority in tracking down the terrorists, and is ready to adopt any legislations necessary for the security services, including increasing the budget for the combat against terrorism," MP Al-Khurainej affirmed.

"The presence at the site of the blast by His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, the National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim, His Highness the Prime Minister, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior helped nip in the bud the terrorists' design to foment sectarian sedition in Kuwait. "Their visit to the blast-hit mosque and solidarity with the victims of the blast sent a clear message that Kuwait stands united against terrorism and is able to maintain its national unity," he added. Al-Khurainej called on the citizens and expatriates to cooperate with the security services and understand whatever security measures they might adopt to maintain the safety and stability of the country.

Ministry of Information said Saturday Kuwait Radio has joined the rest of sectors in mourning victims of the criminal act that targeted Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in Al-Sawaber area, until further notice. Assistant Undersecretary for Radio Affairs Sheikh Fahad Al-Sabah made the announcement and denounced, in a press statement, the despicable act that shocked Kuwait, adding that it was targeting unity of Kuwaitis. He also expressed his condolences and sorrow for the death of TV actor and radio personality Abdulhameed Al-Rifaei, who was among the deceased victims.

"This criminal act is nothing but despicable extremism, of which aftershock boosted the spirit of brotherhood and consolidation among Kuwaitis of all backgrounds and ethnicities," said Sheikh Fahad. The terrorists will fail in their attempts due to Kuwaitis' unity behind their political leadership, he added. Sheikh Fahad also expressed his deep condolences to the martyrs' families, praying to Allah almighty to bestow his mercy upon the deceased, wishing speedy recovery for the wounded.

Meanwhile, the Sultanate of Oman's Assistant Mufti, Sheikh Dr Kahlan Al-Khrousi, has denounced the Friday blast that rocked Imam Al- Sadiq Mosque in downtown Kuwait saying the bloody bombing "is part of blind sedition afflicting the nation." The senior scholar, in a statement published here on Sunday, said that a true Muslim does not perpetrate such horrific action, also noting that roots of the problem lies in radical thoughts that are being instilled among the youth, warning "takfeer (excommunication) leads to bombing, killing and shedding blood." He called for intensive and integrated efforts, involving all religious and civil influential leaders, to nip the sedition in the bud, and urged for working out special educational programs "to correct the religious rhetoric." Sheikh Al-Khrousi also called for punishing those who promote the language of hatred and animosity. "There must be plans to uproot corruption and fanaticism," he said, warning against those who act under camouflage of religion to conspire against the Muslim nation.
