QDVC staff donate for Nepal victims


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) QDVC yesterday announced a QR76,000 donation to Qatar Red Crescent for disaster relief and humanitarian programmes for Nepal earthquake victims.

A month ago QDVC launched a campaign to support victims. Employees donated over QR50,000 and QDVC added half the amount, taking the total to QR76,000.

"With over 100 Nepalese staff, we felt impacted by the earthquake. We are pleased to support QRC with this donation to enable it to carry out work," said Sheikha Athba Al Thani, Chief Support Services Officer, QDVC.

"We have supported our workforce by sending home those needed to be there and helping families of our employees affected by the tragedy."

Saad Shaheen M Al Kaabi, Director, Resources Mobilisation, QRC, said that the donation reflected the management and staff's sense of humanitarianism and belief in the cause of charitable organisations in Qatar."
