Abu Dhabi Int'l posts 14.9 percent rise in passenger traffic


(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi International Airport recorded 14.9 percent increase in passenger traffic in May, with 1,877,440 people being serviced through the airport, Arabian Business reported.

According to Abu Dhabi Airports Co, passengers from Italy increased by 166.5 percent, while passengers from the United States increased by 49 percent year-on-year.

India was the most contributor in passenger number with 305,000 travelers for the month, marking an increased by58.6 percent from the corresponding month last year.

"May was an excellent month for us, and we continue to see strong growth across all key sectors with both passenger and cargo facilities running smoothly," the chief operations officer at Abu Dhabi Airports said.
