AT&T to invest USD3b to expand services in Mexico

(MENAFN) US telecommunications AT&T said it is investing USD3 billion to extend its high-speed, mobile internet service to over 100 million people in Mexico by 2018, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

Mexican President and AT&T chief executive said in statements after meeting in Mexico City that the country's recent telecommunications reform enabled such investments.

The US telecommunication giant AT&T entered the Mexican mobile service business when it acquired Iusacell and Nextel Mexico for USD4.4 billion earlier this year.
