DEWA organises workshop to discuss crisis management plans with local and federal organisations


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organised a workshop for 14 local and federal organisations to discuss the roles and responsibilities of each of them during emergencies that may face electricity and water services in Dubai, and to ensure the readiness of each organisation to fulfill its expected role as per the set plans.

The workshop supports DEWA's efforts to increase readiness level to deal with emergencies. It also fulfils the requirements of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA).

The workshop, held at Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek hotel, was attended by representatives from Dubai Police, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the NCEMA, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, Dubai Health Authority, Directorate General of Civil Defence, Ministry of Environment and Water, Dubai Ports, the Coast Guards, the Professional Communication Corporation (Nedaa), the Department of Economic Development, Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL), Dubai Supply Authority, and DEWA's management.

Our strategy is to avoid crises before they happen, and to be prepared to deal with them according to the highest levels of readiness and professionalism if they occur," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
