Oman participates in UN public service forum


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Ministry of Civil Service (MoCS) participated in the four-day 2015 United Nations Public Service Forum Day and Awards Ceremony that concluded on Friday. MoCS was represented by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Amri Advisor of Strategic Planning.

The event which was held at the Plaza Mayor Medellin Convention Centre in Columbia was held under the theme 'Innovation in Rendering Public Services to Implement Post 2015 Development Agenda'.

The forum discussed best practices on innovation in governance and public administration to contribute to achieving socio-economic and environmental development. Topics such as enhancing professionalism transparency and ethics in public services were also dwelt upon.

Organised by the Division for Public Administration and Development Management of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) the event was held in collaboration with the Colombian government.

A number of senior public officials from the UN members states also took part in the forum.
