Senior Omani scholar says Kuwait blast part "of blind sedition"

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Sultanate's Assistant Mufti, Sheikh Dr. Kahlan Al-Khrousi, has denounced the Friday blast that rocked Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in downtown Kuwait saying the bloody bombing "is part of blind sedition afflicting the nation."

The senior scholar, in a statement published here on Sunday, said that a true Muslim does not perpetrate such horrific action, also noting that roots of the problem lies in radical thoughts that are being instilled among the youth, warning "takfeer (excommunication) leads to bombing, killing and shedding blood." He called for intensive and integrated efforts, involving all religious and civil influential leaders, to nip the sedition in the bud, and urged for working out special educational programs "to correct the religious rhetoric." Sheikh Al-Khrousi also called for punishing those who promote the language of hatred and animosity.

"There must be plans to uproot corruption and fanaticism," he said, warning against those who act under camouflage of religion to conspire against the Muslim nation.
