Syria- Seven civilians killed in "bomb barrels" attacks on Aleppo

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) At least seven civilians including four children died in "bomb barrel" attacks carried out by gunship helicopters of the Syrian regime on northern city of Aleppo, a monitor of the Syrian opposition said on Sunday.

A number of people were also wounded, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), in a statement, adding that an unknown number of people were trapped under rubble of buildings that were hit and demolished in the attacks.

The Syrian regime regularly stages such attacks, dropping barrels packed with large amounts of explosives on cities, towns and areas under control of armed opposition groups.

The monitor reported fighting on several axes between regime troops and opposition factions.
