(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Services and Facilities Committee of the Advisory Council discussed sharp increase in the cost of health insurance schemes under Seha due to lack of monitoring.
The issue of high health insurance cost was part of reports prepared by members of the committee, Al Arab reports.
The National Health Insurance Company (Seha) is a government-owned entity that manages and operates Seha, the national health insurance scheme. It provides mandatory insurance coverage through a network of public and private providers .
According to a senior official, the committee discussed reasons behind the steep increase in the prices and its impact on government's budget.
Committee members, in previous meeting, had raised the issue of rising cost of health insurance.
The panel will now make a report with recommendations by members.
The report will be submitted to council and will be submitted to the government after getting approval from the council.
