Over 50 people killed in clashes in Syria


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) More than 30 people, including Al-Assad regime members and loyal militants, as well as 20 members of Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL), were killed in clashes in northeast Syria.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said in a statement on Thursday that violent clashes took place in southern Al-Hasaka town following a fierce attack from ISIL members on the town.

Meanwhile, Syria's official news agency (SANA) announced the death and injury of dozens of people in a suicide bombing in Eyn Al-Arab town in Reef Halab, as clashes continued between ISISL members and Kurdish People's Protection Units militants.

Local sources reported that ISIL claimed responsibility for a suicid attack in norther Ayn Al-Arab, leaving five people dead.

SANA added that six citizens were killed, while 14 others were injured at residential neighborhoods in Dar'aa in attacks involving mortar shells and gas cylinders.
