Jordanian killed, 4 others injured in mortar shells from Syria

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A Jordanian man was killed and four others wounded Thursday when mortar shells from Syria fell into the town of Ramtha, an official source said.

The mortar shells fell on Ramtha, a Jordanian town bordering Syria, due to clashes that erupted on the Syrian territories, Jordan's official news agency (Petra) quoted the source as saying.

The source added that Jordanian armed forces will deal with any danger caused by the deteriorating situations in Syria in order to maintain the country's security.

Ramtha is some 90 kilometres north of Amman and just a few kilometres from the Syrian border.
