(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Central Statistical Bureau has issued its monthly report on statistical analysis of the indices of consumer prices for the month of May 2015, showing the rate of inflation to have increased by 3.32 percent.
The following is an analysis of the price indices for the main consumer group's index of consumer prices:- First: the main group of "Food and Beverages": The Index for this group increased during the month of May 2015 by 0.34 affected by the rise in the price of fish and seafood, oils & fats, fresh and frozen fruits, sugar and sugar products , among other commodities.
Second: the main group of "Tobacco Products": The Index for this group increased during the month of May 2015 by 0.07%. Third: the main group of "clothing and footwear ": The Index for this group stood during May 2015 the same as the previous month without any change. So the annual inflation rate for this group decreased during May 2015 by 0.92% compared with May 2014. Fourth: the main group of "home furnishings and equipment maintenance": The Index for this group also stood during May 2015 the same as the previous month without any change. So the annual inflation rate for this group during May 2015 moved by 3.57% compared with May 2014.
Fifth: The main group of "health": The index for this group increased by 0.08% during the month of May 2015 as a result of changes in the prices of medical products, appliances and quipment.
Sixth: The main group of "transport": The Index for this group stood during May 2015 the same as the previous month without any change. The annual inflation rate for this group increased during May 2015 by 0.64% compared with May 2014.
Seventh: The main group of "communications": The Index for this group stood during May 2015 the same as the previous month without any change.
Eighth: the main group of "recreation and cultural activity": The Index for this group decreased by 0.46 % during May 2015.
Ninth: The main group of "Education":The Index for this group remained during May 2015 the same as the previous month without any change.
Tenth: The main group of "restaurants and hotels ": The Index for this group remained during May 2015 the same as the previous month without any change.
