(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) French President Francois Hollande said Thursday an agreement to resolve the Greek debt crisis is possible but it will take some time.
"A deal is possible, a deal is needed. There are still some issues pending, progress is ongoing since Monday night. We need to let negotiators, that is, the European institutions, the Commission, the Central Bank and also the IMF and Greece work, bring their discussions to a positive end. "I'll say that the sooner the better," he told journalists as he arrived for a summit of EU leaders in Brussels," he said.
"Greece knows what to do, Greece has stated its intentions, its goals. But we are not far, it will take some more time because it is very technical. But when Greece, Europe and the euro zone are at stake, a deal should be reached," Hollande added.
On migration, Hollande said goals are about succeeding when facing a major problem that is not going to disappear overnight. "You know which are the two principles. Solidarity towards refugees. We need to find a solution. Also responsibility. We need to manage a certain number of issues, like asylum, according to European rules," he added.
