Special needs citizens welcome king's decision

(MENAFN- Arab News) ABHA: Citizens with special needs and their family members in Asir have praised the recent decision of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to provide eligible special needs beneficiaries with a stipend of SR150000 in place of special vehicles equipped for special needs passengers.
Saeed Al-Ahmari whose son suffers from disabilities said he first learned of the news when his son called him and was filled with joy about the decision.
Huseein Al-Asmari said he has two special needs boys in need of a specially equipped vehicle to transport them and has waited more than one year to receive it but now will be able to purchase the vehicle directly with the financial benefit thanks to the recent decision.
'This comes at the right time as we have been waiting to receive specially equipped vehicles but the financial benefit will help solve many of our financial and psychological problems and will allow us to chose the suitable vehicle for our needs' said Yahya Al-Shihri and Abdullah Al-Shahrani both special needs citizens in Asir.
The Special Needs Vehicle Program was launched by the Ministry of Social Affairs in the year 1433H providing more than 3600 vehicles to eligible beneficiaries yet the main problem was delays in issuing vehicles from companies that had signed contracts with the ministry which in turn created more constraints for those with special needs.
