Spain raises 2015 growth forecast to 3.1 percent

(MENAFN) Spain's central bank raised its 2015 economic growth forecast to 3.1 percent, strengthening the outlook for recovery in the eurozone's fourth biggest economy, AFP reported.

The Bank of Spain raised its forecast from an earlier forecast of 2.8 percent published late March. The official growth forecast stands at 2.9 percent for this year and expects expansion to continue in 2016.

"The forecasts for the rest of this year and the next point to the maintaining of a high level of dynamism, markedly greater than that of most of our eurozone partners," the bank's governor said.
