Oman Post, SEZAD discuss opening of new post office


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman Post and Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZAD) officials recently held a meeting to discuss the opening of a new post office in the area. The new branch will provide services to local and international companies as well as citizens and residents in the economic zone.

A delegation from Oman Post will also visit the zone to promote the new and advanced services and meet the requirements of the local market. Meanwhile the first meeting between H E Ali Bin Khalfan al Jabri Undersecretary in the Ministry of Information and Ali Mohamed al Farsi CEO Oman Post was held recently to discuss the proposal to distribute daily and weekly newspapers and magazines across the country.

The move is part of the ongoing expansion of Oman Post's services. The meeting which was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Information and in the presence of Hussain al Lawati head financial department Oman Post and Saeed al Balushi head of Central Post agreed to form a joint committee comprising members from the Ministry of Information and Oman Post.

The committee will study how to distribute newspapers across the sultanate daily. Jabri hailed the proposal put forward by Oman Post as an advanced and necessary step to serve both media institutions as well as readers.

Oman Post is also planning to conduct a tour of a number of governorates where meetings will be held to discuss the new services. Musandam will be the next stop. A number of public and private sector representatives will attend the meeting at OCCI in Khasab.
