Three Saudi soldiers, one UAE officer killed in Yemen fighting
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Three Saudi soldiers and a UAE officer have been killed in military action against the Houthi militias, the joint command of the Saudi-led alliance announced early on Thursday.
Two Saudi personnel died due to a shell explosion in Jizan at the fast-breaking time on Wednesday. The third died during duty at a border checkpoint in Aseer.
It reported that the UAE officer died in confrontations against the Houthis in Nejran last Monday.
Saudi Arabia is leading a GCC-Arab alliance aimed at confronting the Houthis' bid to usurp powers in Yemen. Riyadh is launching an ongoing air campaign demolishing the Houthis' military assets, positions and hardware of their allies, military personnel loyal to the ousted president, Ali Abullah Saleh.
The crisis had erupted when the Houthi militiamen seized Sanaa and other parts of the country in defiance of the legitimate authority of President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi. (end)
