UAE- DIHQA International Quran competition starts


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The international Quran competition, the main section of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, DIHQA, began at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry yesterday, with six competitors participating.

The contestants were from Indonesia, Sudan, Oman, Cote Divoire, Tajikistan, and Burkina Faso, and seven more memorisers from Saudi Arabia, Cameroon, Mauritius, Jordan, Uzbekistan, Central Africa, and Barbados will contest tonight at the Chamber Hall, situated on Dubai Creek.

The DIHQA cultural programmes are continuing with more lectures as part of the 22-lecture programme from June 18th to July 4th. The programme is part of the 19th edition of the award being organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
