Saudi- Unemployment issue
(MENAFN- Arab News) This is with reference to the report '1.27m expat jobs for 'willing' Saudis' (June 23). I strongly believe that the ongoing Saudization program is not in the interest of the Kingdom. There is a great need to revisit this policy. Such reports create fears among the expatriate community. As a matter of fact most of the expatriates are working under immense pressure due to their unfriendly labor policies. It is no secret that working under pressure only affects the overall productivity of an employee. Saudi Arabia does not need such programs to boost its economy. The best way to do things is to set up more industrial units across the country. This could prove to be the most effective way to fight unemployment among Saudis. This program is just a quick fix that may change the statistics for now but in the long run the situation will reemerge but with more force. Tariq Kareem Dammam
