Lexus KeePer Tom Team Remains Leader In The Overall Driver Rankings

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Eneos Sustina racing team of Kazuya Oshima and Yuji Kunimoto driving their #6 Lexus RC F achieved a creditable second place in Round 3 of the 2015 AUTOBACS Super GT series (GT500 class) held recently at Thailand's Chang International Circuit to keep up the consistent performance of the Lexus RC F across the first three races of the season. In the driver' rankings, the No. 37 KeePer Tom's RC F pair of Andrea Caldarelli and Ryo Hirakawa maintained their point lead by holding on to finish 6th.

The start was a clean one with the drivers holding their starting grip position through the early stages of the 66- lap race. In command with the fastest pace and beginning to pull away from the pack was Yuji Tachikawa in the No. 38 Zent Cerumo RC F. But, chasing not far behind in a tight group were the No. 36 Petronas Tom's RC F (James Rossiter), the No. 46 S Road Mola GT-R (Satoshi Motoyama), the No .64 Epson NSX Concept-GT (Bertrand Baguette) and the No. 6 Eneos Sustina RC F (Kazuya Oshima), and their aggressive racing kept the fans on the edge of their seats. "This was a great result for the Lexus RC F powered Eneos Sustina Team and highlights our consistent performance during this season," said Takayuki Yoshitsugu, Chief Representative, Middle East and North Africa Representative Office, Toyota Motor Corporation.

"The high performance prowess and reliability of the Lexus RC F was once again on show reinforcing Lexus' racing capabilities and heritage. Our participation in such races is important as it contributes significantly in adding to our knowledge about our vehicle performance in extreme conditions thereby enhancing our efforts to make ever better cars for our customers. We also appreciate the support of our fans and their constant encouragement for our racing initiatives." Round 4 of the 2015 AUTOBACS Super GT series will take place on Aug 8-9, 2015 at the Fuji Speedway in Japan. Arguably one of the purest and most exciting race series in the world, Super GT is special for a number of reasons. Electronic aids such as ABS, traction and stability controls are not allowed, and the series pitches two different classes and power outputs of car - GT300 and GT500 - into the same race at the same time.
