Two Philippine soldiers killed in militant attack


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Two soldiers were killed and three wounded in two roadside bombings by suspected militants in the southern
Philippines, dpa cited a military spokesman as saying Wednesday.

The soldiers were on patrol in the towns of Sumisip and Ungkaya Pukan
in Basilan province, 900 kilometres south of Manila, when the attacks
occurred on Tuesday, said Lieutenant Colonel Harold Cabunoc.

Two soldiers were killed and another was wounded in the first blast
in Sumisip, while two troopers were hurt in the second attack in
Ungkaya Pukan, he added.
