Egypt exports USD52.45m to COMESA countries in Q1

(MENAFN) Egypt's exports to COMESA countries reached a total of USD52.45 million in the first quarter of the year, while imports from the same countries stood at USD98 million, Daily News Egypt reported.

The aforementioned trades went under the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) framework. Libya and Sudan stood as the most importing countries from Egypt, accounting for 50 percent and 24 percent of total exports, respectively.

"However, there are problems to be focused on to increase and revive trade movement between Egypt and Africa and solve transport and shipping problems," an official said in a statement.
